St. Garabed Armenian Church, located in Baton Rouge, is a Mission Parish of the Diocese of the Armenian Church and serves the entire Louisiana Armenian community. Worship services are conducted monthly and are followed by a fellowship meal served in the church hall. Various social and educational activities are also periodically scheduled.
All members of the community should consider St. Garabed Armenian Church as their home.
For over 100 years the Armenian Church has had its presence here in the United States, providing a refuge and home to all who enter through her doors.
The mission of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church is . . . to preach the Gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ and to proclaim its message of salvation. This mission is realized through worship, education, witness, service, and fellowship in Christ as expressed in the distinctive faith-experience of the Armenian people. All the faithful of the Armenian Church are called to participate fully in this mission.
Our Church is a member of the family of Oriental Orthodox Churches, - Armenian, Coptic, Ethiopian, Malankara Indian, and Syriac, – with the offering of Holy Communion as well as the other Sacraments reserved only for those who have been baptized and chrismated (confirmed) as Orthodox Christians.
We welcome you to the celebration of the Divine Liturgy and following, following, invite you to join us for fellowship and refreshments in the adjoining church hall.
Please take the time to introduce yourself to me and the Parish Council. We would who will be most happy to meet you.
It is our sincere hope that you will return often to worship with us, to grow in Christ and in our Armenian Orthodox Faith, and to become an active member of our parish and community.
Yours in Christ ,
